LULU-Project Mwanza
LULU means PEARL in Swahili. This project helps teenage mothers in Mwanza (Tanzania) to discover their talents, plan their futures ans start small businesses. LULU helps teen-age mothers in Mwanza but has as much an eye for those at risk of becoming one. The girls meet twice every week in groups at a safe place in their own neighborhood; a local school, a shop or at somebody's home. Girls are trained for approximately 10 months. This training focuses on supporting all aspects of a young girl's life: it starts with life-skills training to make her emotionally stronger and to help her plan her life. The first part also consists of some lessons in financial literacy which is followed by handcrafts training and more financial literacy, including small entrepreneurship and it finishes with lessons about health and relationships.
Capacitar Tanzania
Capacitar Tanzania promotes trauma healing and empowerment through Popular Wellness Education, teaching holistic physical and spiritual exercises to improve people's quality of life.
